Canon PowerShot SD900

It’s rare that a truly functional and innovative product can be stunningly stylish, but the Canon PowerShot SD900 ELPH really is. With a softly rounded design made out of pure titanium, the PowerShot is almost a piece of art. However, Canon didn’t forget to provide us with a technologically advanced and exceedingly functional product.
Although the initial attraction to the PowerShot might be its good looks, the flexibility it offers is its true calling card. The PowerShot offers a range of 18 shooting modes (portrait, foliage, snow, beach, fireworks, underwater, etc.) for various environments. There is also a feature called “My Colors” which enables the photographer to adjust colors using artistic photo effects both during and after the shot has been taken.
The Face Detection AF/AE technology, created by Canon, helps create more impressive group shots. This technology works to identify the main characters in a scene, up to nine faces. It quickly adjusts lighting and focus to enable accurate shots.
Weighing in at 6.7 ounces and only 1.1 inches thick, the PowerShot packs a lot into its little body. The 2.5-inch LCD screen has been improved since previous models and is not a large drain on the battery. Although the PowerShot offers an optical viewfinder, the 230,000 pixel LCD display can be used as a viewfinder, even in bright locations.
A 3x optical zoom and 10.0 Megapixel resolution provides functionality unheard of even a year ago. This high resolution allows enough detail to create large posters, while providing enough quality to blow up even the smallest of images.
The automated flash has numerous modes – Auto, Red-Eye Reduction, and Slow Synchro – ensuring predictable quality in all lighting situations.
The PowerShot is USB 2.0 and Windows Vista compatible, providing JPEG compression and NTSC/PAL video output. Internal memory is provided on an SD Memory or Multi Media Card and can be saved to Normal, Fine, or Super Fine compression.
In addition to the camera itself, the PowerShot arrives with a lithium battery pack, battery charger, SD Memory Card (SDC-32M), USB and AV cables, a wrist strap and CD-ROM.
